Linden's "Wingshooting USA" lets IHEA members raise funds with a mouse click

Scott Linden hopes to put TruckVault’s money where every IHEA supporter’s mouse is. The largest television public service fundraiser in upland history, dubbed “TruckVault Cares … about conservation, canines & kids” starts Sept. 20 on his show, Wingshooting USA. Sportsmen and women can raise funds for six different groups including IHEA, and could win prizes for themselves, with every online vote.

Six groups benefit from votes at www.truckvaultcares.com: Ruffed Grouse Society, International Hunter Education Association, AKC Canine Health Foundation, Scholastic Clay Target Program, North American Grouse Partnership and a nationwide coalition of hunting dog rescue clubs. Linden says groups will also benefit from the “cross-pollination” among shared and potential members who learn more about each group when they vote and watch his TV show. Together, the groups claim over a million member-supporters.

Every vote for IHEA sends a proportional amount of the $10,000 fund to the group’s treasury. Through television commercials and in-show educational features, Wingshooting USA viewers will be urged to vote online for their favorite group, learn more about each organization, and motivate their friends to vote. Members can also use social media to “get out the vote” among friends, sending new voters to the site to raise even more funds for IHEA. Each group is represented online by a Labrador puppy. Voters can track their success by noting the amount of kibble in each puppy's food bowl.

Promotional messages will also appear in the groups’ magazines and online publications, on sponsors’ websites, and via viral elements to generate additional awareness – and votes – for each organization. All voters are entered in a random drawing for gear prizes including a TruckVault secure vehicle storage system, Fausti shotgun, Tri-Tronics electronic dog training collars and Filson apparel.

The initiative runs through June, 2012, and is funded by Linden and presenting sponsor TruckVault. It is made possible with support from the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Kent Cartridge, Faust Shotguns, Tri-Tronics training collars and Filson apparel.

Wingshooting USA is the official TV series of the National Shooting Sports Foundation. Created and hosted by Scott Linden, the program airs on NBC Sports/VERSUS, Sportsman Channel and three other networks year round. New episodes launch in late September.
