Federal Heights, CO—The International Hunter Education Association Foundation (IHEAF) Board of Directors announced today the 10th Annual IHEAF Benefit Shoot and Auction will be held May 30-31, 2009 at Markham Park Range in Weston, FL. The event raises funds to help the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) meet its mission of training safe and responsible hunters.
This year the benefit shoot is scheduled in conjunction with the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s National Shooting Sports Summit set to take place June 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Resort in nearby Sunrise, FL, just west of Ft. Lauderdale. The Summit brings hunting and shooting sports industry leaders together to address current issues and plan for future needs and growth.
“The hunter education program educates and trains 750,000 young hunters and shooters annually and the benefit shoot is the single most important event of the year to raise the funds needed to make the hunter education program succeed in today’s environment,” said Chad Bisinger, President of the IHEAF Board of Directors. “At this yearly gathering, industry and friends of the industry network with their peers, have fun at a friendly, competitive event at the shooting range and help raise money that benefits the next generation of hunters and shooters. It’s a vital component in IHEA’s annual budget and its ability to plan for the future.”
Bisinger added, “The shooting sports industry has a long record of supporting the annual benefit shoot. They sponsor teams at the event, donate supplies for it, give quality hunting and shooting equipment for the auction and, then, generously participate in the auction. It’s another good example of how the industry is solidly behind hunter education and safety training for the nation’s youth.”
