Annual Conferences2008 IHEA Annual ConferencePutting the “Fun” Back Into HuntingMay 29* – 31, 2008 Fairview Heights, Illinois Jeff Hopkins and the staff from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources along with the IHEA are making final preparations for our 2008 annual conference in Fairview Heights, Illinois. The conference meetings and presentations start on Thursday, May 29th. However, a professional development course entitled “Ethics in Action” will be offered on Wednesday, May 28th. This class will start at 10:00 a.m. and continue through 5:00. In addition, the IHEA Executive Board will meet on the 28th from 8:00 a.m. to noon. You are more than welcome to attend that meeting too. The evening of May 28th the Illinois Conservation Foundation will sponsor an “Ice Breaker & Dinner”. This will be an evening on the patio. The presentation of colors and keynote address will commence at 8:00 a.m., Thursday May 29th. The morning session will be followed by the Winchester/IHEA Awards luncheon and the afternoon will wrap up with stimulating presentations. Thursday evening, May 29th, we will have our annual trade show and evening partner’s reception. We’ll start the day on Friday May 30th with a hosted breakfast, and then we’ll make our way to The World Shooting Complex at Sparta, Illinois for a “Day at the Range.” Friday wraps-up with a sponsored hospitality suite. Saturday May 31st will be a full day of IHEA committee meetings and a VERY important IHEA Business meeting. A full day of training will be available for instructors! Lastly, the most anticipated event of the Annual Conference is the IHEA Banquet and Auction. The Four Points by Sheraton Fairview Heights is ready to accept your reservations. The IHEA has secured special rates of $70.00 per night for single or double occupancy. When making your reservations, but sure to mention that you are attending the IHEA conference. Information on the shuttle service between the airport and hotel will be made available soon.
