Hunter Recruitment and RetentionHunter recruitment and retention is an important issue for anyone concerned about wildlife management and the future of our hunting heritage. Hunter recruitment occurs when a person develops a personal/cultural identity as a hunter. This takes time, and it happens as a person moves from an interest in hunting to a trial stage, and then continuation.
